Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026 | Last Updated: July 1, 2026

Barrett Auto LLC and Barrett Transportation Services, Inc. (together, the “Company,” “Barrett Auto,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) jointly operate and do business as Barrett Auto Service Center, and both entities respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to each of these entities and to any service, website, or communication offered under the Barrett Auto Service Center name, and explains what information we collect through our website at barrettauto.com and our related services (together, the “Service”), how we use and share that information, and the choices and rights available to you — including if you opt in to receive text messages from us.

By using the Site or the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. This Policy applies to all visitors, customers, and users of the Service and replaces and supersedes our prior website Privacy Policy and our separate SMS Privacy Policy (both dated October 2024), which are no longer in effect.

We use cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, pixels, and local storage) to operate the Site and understand how it is used. Categories include:

  • Necessary/Essential Cookies (Session) required for core Site functionality, such as authenticating users.
  • Cookie Consent Cookies (Persistent) remember your cookie choices.
  • Functionality Cookies (Persistent) remember preferences to personalize your visit.
  • Analytics/Advertising Cookies help us understand traffic and measure marketing performance (for example, Google Analytics or Google/Meta advertising pixels, where enabled).

You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality. Where technically transmitted by your browser or a browser extension, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out preference signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information, to the extent required by applicable law.

5. Text Messaging (SMS) Communications

This section governs any text messages you receive from Barrett Auto and supplements the rest of this Policy.

Consent. By providing your mobile number and opting in — for example, through a website form, an in-shop sign-up, or by texting a keyword — you consent to receive text messages from Barrett Auto Service Center. Consent to receive marketing text messages is never a condition of purchasing any service or product.

Types of Messages. Depending on your selections, you may receive transactional messages (appointment confirmations and reminders, repair or inspection status updates, estimate approvals, invoices, and vehicle pick-up notices) and, if you opt in, promotional messages (special offers, seasonal service reminders, and loyalty program communications).

Message Frequency & Cost. Message frequency varies based on your vehicle service activity and preferences. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your mobile carrier for details about your plan.

Opt-Out. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or through any other reasonable method, such as telling us in the shop, calling us, or emailing us. Reply HELP for assistance. After you opt out, we will send one final confirmation message and then stop sending further texts, except as needed to confirm your request.

No Sharing of Mobile Opt-In Data. We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in/consent status with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. We may share this information only with Service Providers who help us deliver text messages (such as our texting platform and mobile carriers), and only as needed to provide that service.

Carrier Disclaimer. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. How We Share Your Information

We may share Personal Data with:

  • Barrett Auto LLC and Barrett Transportation Services, Inc., with each other, as needed to operate the Service jointly under the Barrett Auto Service Center brand
  • Service Providers who perform functions on our behalf (for example, scheduling software, payment processing, SMS/email platforms, analytics, and hosting)
  • Affiliates, who are required to honor this Policy
  • Business partners, for jointly offered promotions
  • Parties involved in a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets
  • Law enforcement or regulators, when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property
  • Anyone else, with your consent

We do not sell Personal Information as that term is defined under applicable state privacy laws, and we do not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising except through the standard analytics/advertising cookies described in Section 4, which you can control.

7. Data Retention

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to comply with legal, tax, warranty, and recordkeeping obligations (for example, repair order and vehicle service history records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Usage Data is generally retained for shorter periods unless needed for security or legal compliance.

8. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Data, consistent with New York’s Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act (“SHIELD Act”). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we experience a breach affecting your Personal Data, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what Personal Data we collect, request a copy of it, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Data or its use for targeted advertising. Barrett Auto honors these rights for any customer who asks, even where not strictly required by your state’s law, as a matter of policy.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 15. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days if reasonably necessary).

California Residents. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may request information about any Personal Data we may have disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. We do not currently engage in this type of sharing.

Nevada Residents. Nevada law permits you to submit a request directing us not to sell your covered information. Barrett Auto does not sell covered information, but you may still submit a request to service@barrettauto.com.

Authorized Agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law; we may require proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, our Site does not currently respond differently to DNT browser signals, but we do honor Global Privacy Control signals as described in Section 4.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us information should contact us at service@barrettauto.com.

12. Data Storage & Processing

Your information is processed and stored in the United States, on servers operated by us or by our Service Providers. It may be transferred between states in connection with hosting, backup, and customer support operations.

13. Third-Party Links

Our Site may link to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date, and where required, we will provide additional notice — such as by email or a prominent Site notice — before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
